For my money, A Child's Good Night Book is one of the most beautiful children's books ever created. Originally published in a smaller format in 1943, this larger (8-1/4 x 9-3/4") 1950 reissue actually showcases Jean Charlot's remarkable illustrations better. And Margaret Wise Brown's text is, as usual, nearly perfect...a soothing repetitive chant that eases a child into sleep. A first edition (with an odd verified first edition point: no price on the inner flap of the dust jacket) in Fine condition in a Fine dust jacket.
