With a tale from the Brothers Grimm, retold by Randall Jarrell, Snow-White and the Seven Dwarfs was awarded a Caldecott Honor in 1973 for the magnificent illustrations by Nancy Ekholm Burkert. As opposed to the Disney version, this is the true Grimm’s tale with the finale featuring the wicked witch forced to wear red hot iron slippers and dance in them until she dies. The double-page, full-color illustrations by Burkert are remarkable and feature fully human dwarfs, rather than cartoon characters. In Fine condition in an About Fine price-clipped dust jacket.
