Fred Marcellino’s sumptuous paintings illustrate Charles Perrault’s classic fable (ably translated by Arthur Malcolm), Puss in Boots. This trickster tale traces a young man’s journey from a poor, unemployed ex-miller’s son to the Marquis of Carabas (with a lot of help from his aforementioned cat). This first edition in Fine condition in a Fine dust jacket received a Caldecott Honor in 1991.
