H is for Hat: original artwork from On Market Street, measuring 8 x 10” and matted and framed to 15 x 17.” Each page of this wonderful ABC book features a different vendor who is dressed entirely in the wares he or she sells: a bookseller is comprised completely of books, an egg-seller of eggs, and so on. Here, a hat-seller is built entirely of hats. Signed by illustrator Anita Lobel, lightly in brown ink, at the lower right. In Fine condition. Also included is a first edition of the 1982 Caldecott Honor Book, On Market Street, in Fine condition in a Fine dust jacket. Finally, this lot also includes an original 18 x 22-1/2” publisher’s poster for the book and two brochures by NYC bookseller Justin Schiller promoting an exhibition of original artwork from the book at his gallery.
