The middle book in Sendak’s acclaimed trilogy (which included Where the Wild Things Are and Outside Over There) articulating the psychology of childhood, In the Night Kitchen features Mickey’s (stark naked) adventures in the night kitchen. Avoiding being baked in the dough by three cooks with an astonishing resemblance to Oliver Hardy, Mickey breaks free and flies home to his own bed. In Very Fine condition in a like dust jacket, this HarperCrest edition retains the original $5.11 first library edition price on the dust jacket and was awarded a Caldecott Honor in 1971.
