One of the difficulties in collecting used pop-up and novelty books is finding examples in decent condition. It stands to reason that any delicate paper mechanism put into the hands of young children will suffer and that probability only increases exponentially the earlier the book was published. Cinderella is one of B. Wilmsen’s Triumph series, issued in the 1890’s, and featuring full color chromolithographs throughout and “honeycomb” paper pop-ups. How these survived in such extraordinary condition is anyone’s guess, but this example will elicit oohs and ahhs from any viewer. Made in Germany and in Fine condition; the lower front cover has a stable bend, but all pop-up pages are without flaw.
