This original 10 x 38-1/2” poster was issued in celebration of Peaceable Kingdom Press’ 10th anniversary in 1992. One of the first companies to popularize and commercialize classic children’s illustration, Peaceable Kingdom was started by Thatcher and Olivia Hurd and initially created full color, high-quality posters from classic children’s books. This poster features images from a selection of represented artists: James Marshall, H.A. Rey, Maurice Sendak, Ludwig Bemelmans, Rosemary Wells, and Kevin Henkes among them. Included in the center illustration of George and Martha is a sweet dedication to James Marshall who died earlier that year. In Fine condition.
