I'm glad I'm not a betting man. Many of the best sites that forecast the Newbery and Caldecott-winners, thought that Wonder, by R.J. Palacio, was a shoo-in for the Newbery Medal in 2013. Instead, it was not even selected as an Honor Book. Regardless, it remains one of the most influential and popular books in recent memory and quite scarce in first edition. Augie Pullman is born with a facial birth defect that leads his parents to home school him, but their desire for Augie to enter a mainstream classroom leads to confrontations both within his family and at his new school. A Fine first edition in a Fine dust jacket.
