A sticker on the front cover of Daniel Pinkwater's The Snarkout Boys and the Avocado of Death identifies it as the winner of the Leonard Prize for Literature. Like most everything else in Pinkwater's work, it's a put-on and if this book didn't actually win that prize, it should get a medal for the best title of all time. This sci-fi mystery features a fat man in a fez, the Chicken Man, a master criminal and...of course...the aforementioned avocado. One of the author's very best and a scarce title to find in first edition. Fine in a Fine dust jacket.,
