Following the conclusion of her animal books, Beatrix Potter retired from writing, only to be drawn back by her American publisher, David McKay. The result, The Fairy Caravan, was published in 1929 and relates the story of Tuppenny, a young guinea pig, who runs away from home to join a traveling circus. Potter supplies six full color plates and numerous black and white illustrations throughout. In VG+ condition with some fading to the top edge of the back cover.
