Leo Lionni's Swimmy was named a Caldecott Honor book in 1964. It tells the story of a little black fish who discovers the wonders of the sea and then helps a school of other small fish to brave the dangers around them. A magnificently illustrated book in mixed-mediums that remains as appealing today as it was when originally issued. Like most all of Lionni's books, eagerly collected and getting somewhat scarce in first edition. A Fine first edition copy in a Fine, price-clipped, dust jacket.
