From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler was awarded the 1968 Newbery Medal. When Claudia and brother Jamie run away from home, they choose New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art as the perfect location to live, but Claudia's fascination with a beautiful statue leads her outside again to the original owner and the solution to a mystery. This first edition is in the publisher's Spartan library binding (but was never in a library) and is in VG+ condition (a slight bump to the upper corner) in a like dust jacket (a few small closed tears). Page 122 shows a mild shadow where a repair has been made to the text (see photo). Most difficult to find in first edition.
