Many of David A. Carter's pop-up books live in the fuzzy intersection of fun and art. Blue 2 (described as a "pop-up book for children of all ages") features 10 (often double-page) pop-up and movable full-color illustrations that could well be found in an avant-garde modern art gallery while the ABC text ("Abundant Blossoms Collide and a hidden Blue 2," "Dreaming Elephants Fly and a glistening Blue 2"...) gives clues to where to find a hidden Blue 2 in each illustration.
