Despite the onset of WWII, Simon and Schuster added a new, almost identical line to their Little Golden Books in 1944, Walt Disney's Little Library, featuring licensed characters from the Disney studios. One of the very first of these was Through the Picture Frame, based on Hans Christian Andersen's story Ole Lukoie. Young Hialmar's sleep is interrupted by a little old man in a long white beard, Ole Lukoie, who transports him through a picture frame into a world of adventure where he rescues a young princess. A second printing (1946) of a book originally published in 1944, but in Fine condition in a Fine (and scarce) dust jacket.
