In this rare offering by Dr. Seuss, for example, the cover duplicates the radiating blue and white lines that confirm the first edition status, the price is the same as the publisher's first, and the copyright notice has 8 lines rather than the seven in later printings. Only the "A Guild Book" on the dj spine, a Junior Literary Guild notice on the bottom of the front flap, and the pictorial design on the front boards differentiate this, in format and quality, from a true first printing.
