Publishers have always played with different formats to both appeal to children and better fit small hands. One of the most intriguing series was the Stump Books, measuring 6 x 1-1/2” and featuring full color illustrations throughout. Topics ran from the familiar (Old King Cole) to the unabashedly racist (Ten Little Happy Japs). The Rabbit Book is neither of these, a clever story about a little pet rabbit who runs away from home and has various adventures before returning, a bit wiser. With an original ivory (or maybe plastic) catch that secures the binding, this is in VG+ condition and quite scarce.
