What a hoot! It’s as though author Thomas Disch thought of every possible combination of adventure heroes and came up with the last possible choice: household appliances. In The Brave Little Toaster, 5 commonplace objects (a vacuum cleaner, an electric blanket, an alarm clock/radio, a Tensor lamp and…of course..a two-slice toaster) travel from a summer cottage to the big city in search of their long lost owner. Adventure ensues! This delightful fairy tale appeals to both kids and adults and is a Fine first edition in an About Fine dust jacket. As with every other copy I’ve ever seen, the blue endpapers have faded along the interior hinge…the result, no doubt, of the glue used in the binding.
