Unbeknownst to many book collectors but a point of real interest to all those interested in Little Golden Books is the fact that the first thirty-five titles in the series were published with dust jackets. The jackets featured the familiar Golden leaf and vine design on the spine, but the book spines were blue cloth. The Animals of Farmer Jones (#11), was one of the very first twelve Little Golden Books issued in 1942 and was written (unattributed) by Leah Gale and illustrated by Rudolph Freund. This barnyard tale was one of the most popular titles in the LGB launch and this third printing appeared only a month after the true first edition was published. In Fine condition in a VG dust jacket with small chips at the head and tail of the spine.
