If he did nothing other than illustrate Thornton W. Burgess' "Quaddy Books," Harrison Cady would still be recognized as a dominant force in early 20th century children's literature. Happily, he went much further than that. The tireless illustrator was a frequent contributor to St. Nicholas Magazine (among others), authored and illustrated several books of his own, and created the Peter Rabbit comic strip that ran in the New York Herald for almost thirty years. This Peter Rabbit book (Series B-1) features many of Cady's strips in coloring book format: 8 in black and white plus two printed in full color. Completely unused and in VG+ condition (with a few small folds to the lower front corner).
