Unbeknownst to many book collectors but a point of real interest to all those interested in Little Golden Books is the fact that the first thirty-five titles in the series were published with dust jackets. The jackets featured the familiar Golden leaf and vine design on the spine, but the book spines were blue cloth. Hansel and Gretel (#17), was written by the Brothers Grimm and illustrated by Erika Weihs. A classic re-telling of the Brothers famed fairy tale (the wicked stepmother bears a remarkable similarity to the wicked witch and is gone by the children's return, "and was never coming back again"). A very early second printing this Little Golden Book in Fine condition in a Fine dust jacket.
