In 1999 and 2000, Simon & Schuster released beautifully bound and limited editions of their four Eloise books: Eloise, Eloise in Paris, Eloise at Christmastime, and Eloise in Moscow. This Eloise: The Absolutely Essential Edition is a first printing in slipcase and differs from the other three titles in the information it includes: the complete original Eloise, of course, but also an “Eloise Scrpbook” (written by Marie Brenner) that traces the evolution of the renowned children’s story as well as the lives of author Kay Thompson and illustrator Hilary Knight. Limited to 250 copies, this is number 160 and signed by Hilary Knight. Fine in a Fine slipcase.
