This extraordinarily scarce Spanish-language version of Little Black Sambo features more realistic illustrations than some of its frankly racist predecessors (but not so much so, perhaps, as to eliminate discomfort for modern readers). Based on the original text by Helen Bannerman, this large (10" tall), die-cut volume sports full color illustrations by Prudencia Anton on nearly every page and includes the original plastic whistle (almost always missing!) on the front cover.
