Dean & Son of London was among the very first to publish children's pop-up and movable books. This edition of Dean's Moveable Red Riding Hood features 7 hand-colored, moveable illustrations (8, if you count one double-page spread), all in workable condition. While these early 19th century articulated images cannot compare with later Meggendorfer or modern Sabuda illustrations, they provide an historical context for what was to follow and are quite striking in their own right. In at least VG+ condition inside and out; a few small pieces in facsimile.
