Author Ruth Krauss collaborated with many fine illustrators including husband Crockett Johnson (The Carrot Seed), Maurice Sendak (A Hole is to Dig, Charlotte and the White Horse), and Marc Simont (The Happy Day). One of her most-beloved collaborations was for the Little Golden Book, I Can Fly (#92), illustrated by famed Disney artist Mary Blair (It's a Small World). The simple text ("A bird can fly. So can I. A cow can moo. I can to...") perfectly captures a young child's imaginative play and Blair's wonderful full color illustrations are a delight. A first edition (A) in Fine condition.
