Begun as a radio series in 1933 and moving to television in 1949, The Lone Ranger has also appeared in books, comics, and movies (most recently in an ill-fated adaptation in 2013 starring Johnny Depp as Tonto (!)). The Lone Ranger and Tonto appeared as a Little Golden Book (#297) in 1957 and featured illustrations based on the classic TV series starring Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels. When a flash flood threatens a stagecoach carrying the new school teacher, the Lone Ranger and Tonto speed off to avert disaster. Can they reach it in time? (For an interesting comparison, look up the synopsis of Annie Oakley Sharpshooter, above). A first edition (A) in VG+ condition.
