If Johnny Gruelle was just known for his creation of Raggedy Ann and Andy, that would be sufficient to place him in the children's illustrator Hall of Fame. But Gruelle's output was far more than that and much of his varied work was first issued by Volland Publishers. The four individual books that comprise the boxed set, My Own Set of Sunny Books, were originally Volland publications, here reprinted and collected a bit later by M.A. Donohue. The titles include Eddie Elephant (1921), The Cheery Scarecrow (1929), Little Sunny Stories (1919) and The Funny Little Book (1917). With a previous owner's name in each. but remarkably Fine and fresh in About Fine dust jackets (one with a small repaired tear). The box is in VG+ condition.
