We can trace the beginnings of the modern young adult novel to the mid-1960's and among the very first to tackle problems previously ignored was John Neufeld's Lisa Bright & Dark. Lisa Shilling is a sixteen-year-old dealing with a bipolar disorder (though it wasn't called that at the time) in a novel that was promoted as "current as the last time you looked at your wristwatch" (when people still wore wristwatches). An important title in the history of YA literature, this is a first edition (based on dust jacket price) in VG+ condition in like dust jacket.
