Avi's Crispin (subtitled The Cross of Lead) won the Newbery Award in 2003 and is devilishly difficult to find in Fine condition because of the large die cut hole in the front cover. Crispin is a newly orphaned thirteen-year-old boy living in fourteenth century England. Unfairly declared a "wolf's head" (which means he can be killed on sight), he begins a journey, meets juggler Bear, becomes his servant, and discovers the secret of his true identity. In Fine condition in a Fine dust jacket.
