The abomination of slavery and particularly of the transportation of enslaved peoples from Africa to the “New World,” is the focus of Tom Feelings’ The Middle Passage: White Ships, Black Cargo. With a preface by Feelings and an introduction by Dr. John Henrik Clarke, the body of the book is entirely wordless, a series of incredible black and white illustrations depicting the harrowing journey from home to slavery. A large book (10-1/2 x 14”), The Middle Passage won the 1996 Coretta Scott King Award and is a first edition, first printing in Fine condition in a Fine dj.
